Had a fun morning with friends going to the Omaha Quilt Guild Show. We saw many pretty quilts, and much nice fabrics....I didn't take many pictures as I was too busy looking. I do like this offsize log cabin as it looks like the pieces curve.
And after reading about all the Dear Jane ladies struggling with those tiny blocks, I was most interested to see one in person. This quilt has beautiful blocks and wonderful handquilting. Now I suppose I should get to work on a quilt here! (though not one of these....beautiful, but very intricate piecing!)
BTW...I didn't buy any fabric!
What a beautiful DJ quilt! When are you going to start working on yours???
ReplyDeleteI"m glad you had such a nice time and I like the two photos you chose to show us. You said you didn't buy fabric. Did you buy ANYTHING there??? We need to know about these things......LOL
ReplyDeleteThe curved effect of the log cabin blocks is striking.
ReplyDeleteI've been working on a DJ quilt for 1-1/2 years. Finishing each little block is satisfying, like completing a little mini quilt. I wanted to learn to piece by hand & hand applique. DJ is giving me plenty of practice.
I'm envious that you got to see a finished one "in person." I haven't been that lucky yet.
Let us know if you decide to become a Janiac.
Thanks for showing those pictures...glad you had a good time. Those Dear Jane, well...I really admire the person who does one. I had looked into doing it but my husband told me to wait, I did and now I am glad....alot of work.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts, especially the baby Jane.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts; and you're right on the LC looking like "curves!" the DJ is awesome :) Are you feeling OK??? I didn't think it was possible to visit a QS and leave w/o any fabric (LOL). You should win a prize for your willpower :)
ReplyDeleteSpectacular!
ReplyDeletedid you say you did not buy any fabric?
Thanks for showing the DJ quilt, I admire anyone who takes it on although it is not for me. The illusion created in the log cabin quilt is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. I have just about finished my second project with the fruit ladies fabric. I will be blogging about them tomorrow probably. It is rather fabulous fabric isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the quilts. I want to make a Jane out of my handdyes so it will be different. I can't believe you didn't buy any fabric did you get some patterns of quilting supplies?
ReplyDeleteI can't get over the log cabin looks like it curves. That is so amazing.
ReplyDeleteI went to the show also, but I don't have the will power you do!! I bought lots of fabric and now I need to get busy making something.
