Well, I finished the top for the Beginning Quilting class yesterday....taa daa! I like this pattern that it makes, though there are others. Now at some point I will have to layer, tie and bind it as that is how we finish it in class.
We are going on a family camping trip to Crawford Creek Park near Battle Creek, IA this weekend. One of my sisters has a camper, but most of us don't. Luckily, they have 3 nice cabins we can rent. We went last year and had a blast, so we are just hoping that it doesn't storm while we are there. We have had so much rain lately. There is a lake right by the cabins, so very relaxing. My whole family (I have 5 brothers and sisters plus many nieces and nephews) can't make it, but there will be plenty there to enjoy. My husband is staying home...he doesn't enjoy camping!
Sewmeow is still adding things to her giveaway, so stop on by and take a look!
You make some very cheery quilts!!
ReplyDeleteI saw your entry on the What Was I Thinking? quilt contest :), and wanted to tell you that pulling the batting out was a great idea. In Texas, those are called "summer quilts," because they're great for just a light covering when it's too hot for a "real" quilt.
Great quilt. I also like the pattern you got and the colors are great! Have fun on the camping trip, I would to take some time and go camping.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice pattern to start with!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy the camping trip, & hopefully many will be able to join you. I'll be thinking only sunny thoughts for you. (I have 5 brothers & sisters too.)
Nice job. Never thought of alternating the colors like that. I have one on my bed in the same pattern but it repeats itself.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jean, for promoting my FREE Birthday Giveaway on your blog. I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHave a blast at the campsite with family. I used to do a lot of camping when family was young...its' good times!
I didn't know that they put cabins on that part of the lake at Crawford Creek. I guess that it's been a while since I have been home to be at that park. I'll have to go there the next time that I am home.
