My sister, Sharon, came down today and spent the day with me. We took this pic of her with her quilt. (She was standing on a chair) She loved the quilting. We spent the day talking and sewing. She worked on appliqueing some star blocks and I worked on the memory quilt...the good news there is that I finished sewing the binding down on it, so it is almost ready to go. I wish I would've taken a pic of her blocks. Someone gave them to her, they are handpieced 9 point stars. She is appliqueing them onto off- white squares.
Here is my Circle and Spin quilt, I finished the quilting yesterday.
Sun shining in on it....maybe looks a little brighter & yellower than it is.
Here is the back....After I finished I was looking out the window and noticed the shade from the tree in the yard looks a lot like the back of the quilt.
Refreshing, huh? Kind of like my day...
Such PRETTY work you are showing here today!!! I love both quilts.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks huge compared to her head above it.
ReplyDeleteI thought that backing was a picture of a tree in the shade when I first looked at it.
I think you told me before but what templates did you use for your circle quilt?
that's so awesome
ReplyDeleteWow Jean, I too thought that the back of the quilt was a bunch of trees. That is so cool!
ReplyDeleteLove your sister's quilt. Isn't it nice to have a sister with something like quilting in common. I have 2 sisters the older one sews only clothing and the younger one doesn't do any crafts.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day for you.
ReplyDeleteI really love your spinning circles...
Both quilts are beautiful. I love it when my sister in law comes and we just hangout and talk and sew.
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy picture-your sister and her quilt! YAh for completing another quilt!
ReplyDeleteI agree the--tree's shadow is mesmerizing and looks like a quilt! Good eyes!
What are you working on next?
Beautiful Jean!!! Love both your Sis's quilt and your quilt :) You do an awesome job w/the quilting! You asked what kind of machine I have ... it's an HQ16 ... you get a lot more done than I do tho!!! Ohhhhh and the shade outside did look just like the back of that quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteI love those quilts.
ReplyDeleteI've done a circle quilt very similar to yours. I'll have to dig it out and quilt it.
Love and hugs Gina xxx
It looks simply great!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts! :-)
ReplyDeleteDitto to everybody else's comments. Love your sister's quilt, and you're lucky that you share your interest in quilting. LOVE the grass<-->quilt back comparison.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts. The back does look like a shady grove, at first glance that is what I thought it was.
ReplyDeleteYour sisters quilt is wonderful, I love the colors. I enjoy all you quilts, you are talented.
ReplyDeleteThe shade tree part made me smile, it does look like the back of that quilt. Such fun.
