Black and white, and pink all over....

I got some more work done on the black and white quilt last night. I have all of the rows sewn together and started joining them with the sashing. Hopefully I will get it finished tonight. I don't know if I am going to add a border or not. It is close to twin size, so I probably will add a border so that it could be used on a twin bed. I have a pretty black and white large print floral I can use.
I think I moved some more pieces around after this picture, but this gives you an idea of what it will look like.  You basically make similiar blocks, then join with sashing. I like this version of this type of quilt because you do a lot of strip piecing, then joining so it goes pretty fast. I haven't made any other quilts from the Turning Twenty series, but this one caught my eye.

We got some scary news last night. My brother in law underwent emergency heart bypass surgery. He was a very lucky man, he had 3 blockages that were at 90 - 100%. He was on the road, started having chest pains and drove himself to the hospital. Things are looking good this morning, hopefully his recovery will go well.

  1. Wow, you're right, your BIL was very lucky he didn't have a full blown heart attack while driving. Hope he recovers fast.

Love your quilt. Which "Turning Twenty" book was this from?

  2. My father in law had the bypass surgery in October. He hadn't been having any pain at all. 4 bypasses. He's doing great. My father had it done, emergency, 24 years ago. He lived over 20 more years, and it wasn't his heart that killed him. Hope your brother does well and has a full recovery.
