Bare wall....
Before I started putting up the tree, I laid it on the floor so that I could see where it would end up width-wise. I wanted it in the corner half of the wall, not centered as it's such a long wall. There is a window to the hallway in the adjacent wall, so it will be seen as people walk by.
The tree is 90" x 133" so I wondered how it would go up. It was in 6 pieces. Jere, the secretary at our school, helped me. It would've been impossible to put up alone. Then we rearranged the bookcase and some of the furniture. I have new, bright colored boxes for the books in these bookcases, but want to put labels on them, so haven't transferred the books yet.
Could it get any better than this? Now the question is....Does the rest of the wall need something? Maybe a saying? I didn't get a picture of the whole wall, but there is as much without the tree as there is with the tree. Any suggestions?
I love it.
It looks amazing! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI love your library! A tree to read under and cozy pillows to snuggle into. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love it too. Maybe a saying by Roosevelt would be nice. I do like your idea of using words on that side of the wall.
ReplyDeleteNo Jean, it is fabulous as it is.
ReplyDeleteI love that tree!
ReplyDeleteCute! You are lucky. A quilting friend of mine is a librarian in her school district. This year she has to cover 2 schools. They wanted her to do 4 schools next year. She told them to find her another job in the schools, that it just wasn't possible. I don't blame her. The poor kids wouldn't have had any time in the library that way.
ReplyDeleteOh my what a difference that tree makes. I'm impressed you could put it up, even with help. I've seen such in hotels and various businesses and have always loved the look, but been fearful of trying to install such. Total #CreativeGoodness.
