It would look something like this.
I thought about putting this fabric up part way, and then changing to the background fabric, which could be anything from light blue to white, since all were used. Then I think maybe that is just too hokey (This shows only part of the cottage center). What do you think?
Mama Kitty likes it as is.
Maybe tomorrow I will cut a few strips and see how it looks.
It is a very interesting print. I think if you change over to a sky fabric it will have to be darker than the sky fabrics in the block so that it does in fact become a border.
ReplyDeleteUmmmmmmm....I'm not totally sure about changing to a sky-like fabric for part of the border. I'm thinking I like the green landscapey one better.....but I know you are capable of making a sky one work. I do think, though, that Wanda is right about it having to be darker than the sky in the house and tree blocks.
ReplyDeleteI just like it any ole way, it is just going to be the cutest quilt!!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of using the landscape fabric, thats a great fabric, all around the quilt, the background fabric is too light in mho.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Wanda from EC
I think the cat is ready to move into one of the cottages Jean.
ReplyDeleteI like the landscape fabric for the border.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of going to a lighter color up top but think it might work better to go to a lighter green rather than a blue or white. Then it's still reads as a border but would seem background greenery or a far away hill. I think the lightness on top gives it an airy feeling that's nice. Very cute quilt!
ReplyDeleteI am really new to quilt making (only made two myself!).. but I am thinking the middle of the quilt is already so busy I'd be inclined to go with something neutral for the border? That landscape material is lovely though and would work too. Each to their own.
ReplyDeleteI think I like the landscape fabric.. but either would work.
ReplyDeleteI love the kitty. LOL she looks like she is haveing a good time.
