I made another cottage last night and finished the last row on the cottage quilt. Now I have to do some thinking on how I want to finish it. It is sort of large for a wallhanging...
The sashing rows in between are from one of those landscape prints so are all similiar but different.
I thought about using some of that as a border too. What do you think would look good?
I think it would make a good border to separate the houses from the border since there are so many different color houses. It's looking good.
ReplyDeleteIt kind of makes a little neighborhood. Can you add some borders that are reminiscent of something else you'd see in a neighborhood? Blue sky, sidewalk, something? Add a couple of borders and it could get close to bed-sized, I'd think.
ReplyDeleteYou got some good suggestions...can't think of anything else. Your post brought up a question in my mind, though. Sometimes I end up with projects that are TOO big for any wall where I could hang them, but not big enough for a throw (or don't lend themselves to that). What DO people do with such pieces...ones that are too big for the wall but not big enough for anything else? I need some ideas as I do have such sized pieces and don't want to just hide them away and not enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteMarbled blue to represent the sky.
ReplyDeleteI just love this quilt Jean.
It turned out beautiful Jean, I love it. I like Angie's suggestion, you could add childrens swings, slides or just road/street
