Happy Friday and moving day!

We had a snow day yesterday, so I cleaned for awhile and then worked on some blocks for my daughter's Circle and Spin quilt. I am going to get it finished over the winter break!

Today I am back to unpacking at school. They are going to bring the students over to let them tour the building and spend some time in their new classrooms, unpacking their own supplies. They are very excited to see it, and  I am excited to see what they think of the library! I made a special display using our moving back theme of "There's no Place Like Home" and some Wizard of Oz books. I broke down all of the unpacked boxes on Wednesday and put the still full ones behind my desk so that it would look nice! Today is our last day of school before winter break...we will come back to the newly renovated Roosevelt on Jan. 7.

Amazing the difference two days makes!

I have spent the past 2 days UNpacking boxes.... I am really excited about how much we have gotten done. I think we have unpacked close to 300 boxes of books! I wouldn't be half this far if it wasn't for Lisa, a librarian that works with us. She has moved, and organized the boxes so I can keep unpacking. Plus it is nice to have an adult to talk to! It makes the work go much faster.

Where did all those boxes go, you might ask?
Here is our small mountain from yesterday...I broke down all of Monday's boxes on Monday.

I am hoping to get the rest of the books unpacked today. Wish me luck!

A day early...

I got a little surprise on Friday when I got to work....the movers were going to move the books early! I had finished packing the books on Thursday, so had other misc. things to cover/pack. So while they moved the 400 boxes of books out, I continued to label and pack.
I got most of it finished, though I still have a little bit left to do today.
I went over to the new media center and directed the boxes. Not sure I did that right or not, but they are there anyway.

The space is still unbelievable to me...but I'm sure I will get used to it!
This area will have tables and chairs for meetings.

I love this little seating bench, though not sure it is in it's permanent home yet.

As you walk in the building, this is what you see. The pillars are where the new meets the old hallway.
I will be here most of the time this week, unpacking.

I got most of my shopping finished this weekend, as well as some Christmas sewing...can't share pix of that since it will ruin the surprise. Maybe after Christmas...

Almost packed!

As you can see, I'm starting to get a little "boxed in" at work!
I spent the past 3 days packing, with a little help from another librarian. She taped so many boxes she probably has blisters, but it really made the packing go faster. Plus she showed me a new labeling method that speeded things up as well.
The counselor has an office at the back of the library, so I had to leave her a path to walk through!
Pushing some of the shelves together made a bit more space on one side.
I took these pix about noon yesterday, and by the time I left I had all the books packed. I still have some odds and ends to pack, as well as things to label with moving tags, but it is really looking good!

Next Monday the truck comes and takes it all to our renovated building and I get to start unpacking! I have a feeling that will be much more fun!

Are we ready for this?

We got to visit our remodeled building last night....it is so beautiful. I can't believe I will be working in that gorgeous space every day!
Love all the bright new furniture.
Not sure where it will all end up, but it is so awesome to have it!
 Ahhhhh, my beautiful desk....
 Some largish bean bag chairs.
I spent the past 2 days packing the library and think I am over half way. It's hard to tell, but I have packed 300 boxes so far, so I had better be getting close to the finish line. The moving truck is coming Monday morning to take it over to Roosevelt and I will spend next week unpacking, rearranging and organizing.

I have a storage room with a sink and water fountain! All of the classrooms have the same sink and water fountain, which will be really nice for the kids and teachers as well.

Lots of storage space, both in the storage room and in my desk area. All of the classrooms have nice storage cabinets too.
The kids are going to be bussed over for a tour next Thursday. They will move their own personal school supplies and books when they go over. They are really excited to see it too. We will be located in the newly renovated Roosevelt when we go back Jan. 7 after our winter break.

Class sewed circles around me!

I had a great Circle and Spin class on Saturday. They took to sewing circular shapes like ducks to water.    It was a fun group as well, with much chatting and giggling along with the sewing.

What can I say...lots of gorgeous fabrics....

I think everyone enjoyed the process and learned some skills that they will be able to use when sewing other curved shapes!

I start packing today, or should I say resume??? We found out yesterday that we get to preview and tour the building tomorrow after school, so that should be fun. I will take lots of pix!
