And a big TA DA!!!!

The new quilters making the More Peas in a Pod quilt learned how to make and attach their binding last night. The beginning quilting classes I teach are the only ones that  I see through from start to finish, so it's really fun when we reach the last class. We started out with six quilters, but 2 of them decided to have their quilts machine quilted, so that left 4 to finish with me.
Vicki had to miss last week, so she spent last night layering and tying her quilt. We are getting together another day so she can make and attach her binding.
I showed them 2 ways to hand sew the binding down to the back, so they had a little time left at the end of class to practice that.
George and Lisa both had black backing fabrics and George had black binding too, so it was harder to see what they were doing...good lighting is a must with blacks, that's for sure!
This group of new quilters have been fun to work with and I can see many beautiful quilts in their futures! Congrats on completing your first quilts!

Great quilts. My beginning quilters don't even know how to use a sewing machine. I'm teaching them the very basics.
