Three Sues and a cottage

Six of the seven members of the Sunbonnet Sue Sampler are moving on to another sampler club, which met Tuesday night for the first time. Four of them brought their finished Sue Samplers.
It's always fun to see a lineup of the same quilt. Deby got hers quilted already!
Shirley appliqued a house instead of Sue, which is beautiful too.
Their first block, Crow's Feet, was coming along well by the end of class, but no pictures yet. They will also be doing a color study of one block during this class. Each month they will make a different version of it as homework to have some fun playing around with colors and design within the framework of one block pattern. They are also using multiple backgrounds for the rest of the blocks, rather than the same background for each. So the whole quilt is a study in color, hues and relationship to other colors. I'm looking forward to watching their creativity bloom.

I haven't gotten any sewing done the past few nights, still playing catch-up from being gone for the retreat. I'm teaching the Honeycomb Waffle, Too quilt tomorrow....it will be fun to see what shades they picked out for their 3-D blocks! (I bought 3 more shades of gray/black while on retreat to make some more blocks for the working model... I can't stop!)
