Sampler class show and tell and other tidbits...

I don't often get pictures of the sampler blocks as they make them because we work on one or two each month. The other night during class, three of the ladies put their finished blocks for the Spiraling Out Sampler Quilt up on the design wall.
So pretty and different in the different colorways.
I got a lot done on the baby puzzle quilt Wed. night. I have five rows sewn together now. It is going to be very busy with all the bright and boyish prints, so this baby will be very stimulated! I will get a picture of it tomorrow.

Last night was the first time I met with the new Beginning Quilting class.  I can tell these ladies are going to be enthusiastic quilters! I will keep you posted with their progress.

Still catching up...

I am still trying to get caught up on everything. I worked all day yesterday on patterns for the new Sampler, Spiraling Out. Had to recreate the EQ files since I had forgotten to save them (had to install a new harddrive a few weeks ago). I am missing some of my other EQ files, but I have most of the important ones. I also wrote the patterns for 5 of the blocks, so that is a good start. I still have to write about  8 more. I have been working on other class paperwork today, but hope to get a couple more done later. I realized I don't have a good picture of it either, as the top is finished. So need to do that as well.

It's a looooong list.....

Sewing, partying and more sewing...

I have been busy working on my new Sampler quilt. Since we had 2 snow days this week, I got more done than I would have otherwise. I have the 12 main blocks finished and am working on the alternate blocks. I picked out the border fabrics yesterday after class so have everything I need to finish this quilt. This is another one of the blocks. I love the dainty look of the fan blades.
I had a nice quilt salad when I was finished trimming half square triangles.

I was surprised last night when a dinner outing with my daughters turned into a surprise birthday party for me! They changed the restaurant at the last minute and when I got there I was met with  a group of family and friends  to celebrate. What a surprise! I don't know how they kept it a secret, because this was the 3rd planning of the party. The first 2 were cancelled because of family illness and a family funeral, so I guess 3rd time is a charm. It was great fun!

Had a great time during UFO day yesterday as well....lots of sewing, and gabbing! I will post more pix of UFO day as well as sampler blocks in the next couple days...need to go sew now!
