Relook at Blogger's Quilt Festival...and...oh yea...snow

Sort of a nice fresh topping of snow we have now. I am not sure how much we got, maybe about 4 -5", but it blew around like crazy. You can sort of see the drifting in the sidewalk. It's kind of funny, it doesn't even seem that deep anymore! Now the temps are falling and it is very cold outside.

Wish I had somewhere to put these indoors, but there just isn't room in the garage or house. I do have the cushions indoors for the winter...the cats have a new place to sleep in the basement!

Amy is having a revisit to the Fall Blogger's Quilt Festival, which should be fun seeing as I never did get them all visited in the fall! She is looking for nominations for best quilt, most touching story, or best friend's quilt...lol She has the details on her blog if you want to nominate someone. Since I'm snowed in today, no school! I plan on visiting some. I even revisited mine, as I couldn't remember for sure what I had entered. (sad? yea...) I will check some as I take breaks from working on my patterns for the sampler quilt. Might even get a little sewing in later.

Another one quilted....

Here is the 2nd baby quilt. I am making these for my sister and her husband to give his great nieces as gifts. I worked on them during the first blizzard 3 weeks ago, and quilted it yesterday. I used one of my new pantos, which is sort of wavy and fun.

I quilted with multicolored thread. Not sure if you can see that.

My assistant likes to help with pictures.  She kept fussing around me yesterday when I was quilting. She never does that so I was worried she was sick or something.  Turned out she just wanted to be brushed. She seemed to think I had nothing better to do!

A view of our snowy world. It really doesn't look that bad. I will have to go out back and take pix of the patio chairs, they are buried! I was supposed to go to Earling today for my mom's coffee, and then stay over for a sewing day with her and my sisters and sis in law. The coffee was cancelled, but I might still go up tomorrow to sew, if the highways are passable.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....

Since we can't stop it, I guess we will just stay home and enjoy being snowed in! We are on our way to 12"! Guess what I'll be doing?

Have a happy and wonderful Christmas!

Friday Snow Day!!!

Sometimes when you work for the school district, you feel just like a kid....like when you wake up to a SNOW DAY!!! And it couldn't come at a better time. My sister & her boyfriend will arrive late tonight from Canada. I have been cleaning like crazy the past couple nights, after having classes Mon. & Tues. night. So what I have left to do shouldn't be too bad since I have all day to do it.

We didn't actually get that much snow, but the ice and sleet that came before made everything a huge mess. I think a large part of the midwest was in the path of this storm. I have another sister coming from Missouri on Saturday, hope she makes it. Seems like they always get lots of sleet when it does anything. My sis from Canada will stay here til Sunday, then on to my hometown (Earling) about 50 miles from here. So I will see her several more times before they go home.

I love this time of year, even if I am so far behind...no baking done...no shopping done....no decorations up except the Nativity scene.
But I did get the curvy pieced quilt top finished....so here it is. I'm still not sure it turned out like I thought it would, but it is bold and colorful. And I am still working on the new Sampler quilt, though it is on hold til after my sister goes to Earling. Whew, sorry this is so long.
