My friend Jo made this quilt for her son and fiance for their upcoming wedding. She made one for herself a few years ago when I taught this as a class, and they had seen it, and wanted the same pattern. She did a fantastic job...the colors just pop out at you!
Another thing off my list of things to get done. The back for this quilt is actually darker than this, a pretty black and brown mottled fabric with a sheen to it.
I hope to work on the Lone Star tonight. Happy Monday! (I'm trying, believe me!)

The value changes are perfect in that one to get the 3-D look. The quilting looks great. It is hard to get true color on fabric with a sheen. I have finally given up on a couple I tried to photograph.
Wow, very striking! Love the quilting from the back. :-)
Yes....striking is the word for that and you did a wonderful job quilting it. HEY....I went back, as you suggested, and looked at my label from Betsy for the cottage swap quilt and mine is NOT a hexagon...it is a square AND my words are done in marker and not stitched on there. I guess she is doing some of them different. I might have a slight problem as the bottom of the label doesn't have 1/4 inch of fabric for me to turn under the edges.....stitching for the little cottage goes almost all the way to the bottom. Oh, well....maybe I'll have to fuse the square into place instead of turning it under and blind-stitching it down...plenty of time to figure that out, right?
You and Jo done good Jean! Gorgeous quilt and gorgeous quilting :)
As usual Jean another beauty quilted by you. I have never seen that color combo, it looks so good together.
Stunning quilt
