A little vacaton shopping...

We managed to find Bear's Paw Fabrics one day while I was in the Baltimore area. They had a nice selection of fabrics, including some modern prints as well as batiks....these are what I took home. I can't wait to use them on a project.

Rachel has gps on her phone, so we found our way around the new city just fine using it. What a great bit of technology!

I need to work on finishing work on my class schedule for the fall/winter and getting everything ready to post. Hopefully today!

They finally locked me up!

We spent all day Sunday at the Farmer's Market and then went down to the Baltimore Harbor. We took water taxis all over the area, which was fun. I took these pictures at Fort McHenry

We toured this unusual lighthouse as well.

We had read about The Horse You Rode in On Saloon on Fells Point, so took the water taxi there for lunch. It is the oldest operating bar in Maryland. It has been open continuously since the 1700s as well as being a favorite watering hole of Edgar Allen Poe.

It's not fancy but we had some great ambience and good food. Loved the signs too.
I haven't done any sewing since I've been back....maybe tomorrow!

I'm back!

This was what I saw a week ago when I met my daughter to start our long journey to Baltimore. She drove the moving truck and I drove her car. The dogs mostly rode with her, with doggy seatbelts, though one of them did ride with me in a kennel for a few hours. They were sort of worried when not with her, though.

We stayed in a dog friendly motel the first night out and they were excited. I ended up falling and bruising my ribs so had some soreness and discomfort for the rest of the trip, but it is getting better now.
After 2 days and 1140 miles of driving we arrived at her new apt. This perfectly expresses how we all felt!
We stayed her that night and movers came and helped unload the next morning. We spent most of Friday unpacking and getting a few groceries....so the place started to feel like home.

We vistited the Farmer's Market on Sunday. What a place! lots of produce, crafts and cooked food. It was fun. Most of the pillars (it was under the interstate) are painted with scenes. Very pretty!

This guy was really good at playing this saxaphone!
We did lots of site-seeing throughout the weekend, more pictures tomorrow.
