Tuesday Sew-in day!

 I sewed with the Tuesday group yesterday...it's always fun to see what everyone brings. Michael works there and brought in his Stack n Whack quilt to show us. We loved it! See if you can see the Trek stars on it.

 Becky brought the eight paper-pieced diamonds she had made at a retreat last year. She needed to put them together with the setting triangles and squares. Isn't it gorgeous?

 Cheri worked on another set of Stack n Whack blocks that she made with her leftovers from her first quilt. She used green background this time and they look so different!

 Dianne worked on setting and finishing her Stack n Whack too....she auditioned many shades of pink, purple and coral for that small border, but we all liked this one the best.

I bound Cobblestone Path, but still don't have a good picture of the whole quilt. I should've asked some of the ladies to hold it up so I could take a pic, but I didn't. I will get one soon! I also cut out a new version of the Miss Tess quilt, so it's ready to arrange and sew together.

I finished quilting Ruby Shadow this morning, so need to trim it and attach the binding. I'm also getting things ready to go on my quilt retreat tomorrow. I am taking two new projects, and a few other things I've been working on. I will post retreat updates while I'm there so you can join in on the fun. 

Last Tuesday Sewing day....

 Back in June, I had gathered several ufos and put them in bags to take to Tuesday Sewing so that I could finish them. Diana ran out of fabric on her project, so I asked her if she wanted to finish one of them. She took this one, (scroll down to the end of post to see it then) added some borders and finished it yesterday. I think the blocks were originally from a swap. Now I need to quilt it and find a home for it.

 Betty worked on finishing this applique project...she is going to hang it over a window. There are lots of pretties on this quilt...some beading and other embellishments.

Diana finished her flag quilt (she was working on it during the retreat). Now she just has to snip the seams...

I got the last border sewn on the new Sampler, but no pix yet. I also found a backing fabric for it, so I want to get that sewn together too. Then I cut and sewed some strip-sets for a demo I will be doing at Cut Up and Quilt next weekend (Aug. 31)for their one year anniversary. It's hard to believe they've been open a year already! I will take some pictures later of my progress on this cute demo quilt.

I hate to see summer break end, but I guess I should just be happy to have it! It's back to school for me on Friday.

Family time & quilting time

 Yesterday was great, sewing with friends all day. I got the rest of my Hollow Cubes Too triangles cut out and want to finish sewing the other side pieces on today...then I will be ready to figure out the layout. I really like this quilt and will be excited to see it come to life!  

I am heading up to my hometown for some family sewing/chatting time today. I plan on stopping at the Harlan quilt store on my way. They are having a big sale for the Iowa shop hop, so I have to check it out.

My sister, Nancy,  wants to work on her quilt, so we will be having a mini sewing retreat the next 2 days. I am taking several projects to work on, but will probably spend most of my time working on a new Potato Chip quilt. I designed this quilt several years ago, and gave away the one I made. I want to make a new one so if I want to teach the class, I have my own model. (Plus it's just fun and easy to make!) I borrowed my mom's quilt the last time I taught it!

My two other sisters that live in Earling have to work today, but one is coming tomorrow to sew in the afternoon. She has some bindings to work on
